Are you interested in novels?

There are a lot of novels in the world. I want to introduce you one of the oldest story made by woman. This is very classic and even Japanese people cannnot read the original text, because it is written in classical style. However, the story is translated in many languages, so it is more understandable for not Japanese people.

The story is named, ' Tales of Genji'. Some people might have heard the name before. It was written around middle of 10th century in Kyoto. At that age, Japanese society is highly divided between high-society and local-society. The country almost closed to outside of world and many previlleged people, named 'Kizoku', lived in Kyoto, the capital at that time. The story is fiction and romance. On the course of writing this text, I even find it necessary to read it again. It's quite long story and some of the scenes are taught in high school, but, personally, I don't know whole story.

Let's try reading Tales of Genji. It's an endless classic.
