Purple is thought to be noble colour in ancient Japan
Purple is thought to be noble colour in ancient Japan

Hello. I am Kazuki. Today is May 19 and it's just Monday. Monday and it's cloudy as reflecting people minds?

Today I am going to discuss a bit about music and Japan.

As it is often said, Japanese music, especially Japanese pop music, is something exceptional, better or worse. If you like, you like and opposite is also true. However queer it sounds like, that's the case.

The history of music is, however, very long. When you read some books more than 1000 years ago, there are many scenes that people enjoy playing and listening to music. I don't think it is highly prevailed to general people at that time, but the culture of music is always keep some important field in the country. For example, ' Heike Monogatari', a typical Japanese medieval historical book, is said to written down from the stories which is told by some blind people speak on the street. So, even now, the stories is learnt on the theme of certain rhythm and that made even modern citizens feel the unstable social state at that time and also something that is unchangeable, either.

Other example is that certain Japanese origined branch of buddism is based on song. I think the time isn't far from that of 'Heike Monogatari', so maybe there is some ups and downs of use in music. The religic song is said to be a origin of a Japanese song which now used on the 'Matsuri', Japanese festival. Everybody is dancing around central tower, on which obtain Japanese drums, and make a eccentric atmosphere. At that era, when many songs are sung, Japan was under war time and a lot of samurai has arose. This is almost first time that samurai has emerged and given fear to general people.

I am not sure that soldiers were fond of music or not. However, the most famous and tragic hero, Nobunaga Oda, is believed to have died with singing song which and the scene is now recognised as some life beauty.

As all of these example shows, Japanese people definitely love music. There are some world famous musicians from the nation and that is also fine example . So don't be mad when you face some illogical songs of Japan. That makes me confused, too.
